Pinchando hace más de 10 años, D´Funk empezó tocando House y Garage en clubs y bares de la costa del Sol. Allá por el verano del 97 empezó a experimentar con estilos como house progresivo y trance, poco después organizo noches Juicy en Benalmádena. En el 2000 tomó el nombre de D´Funk como nombre artístico y a la vez se mudó por la zona Marbellí de la costa juntándose con el colectivo Rareface, la primera radio-tv techno online de España, produciendo sesiones en directo a través de Internet. En este tiempo las sesiones de D´Funk se componían de Deep house y Funky tech House junto con un toque ocasional del lado oscuro del 2 Step, teniendo residencia en Rareface.com, Electrosound y Dancekulture.

En el 2001 actuó en festivales y clubs de sitios como Granada, Almería y Torre vieja, ese año lanzo su programa de radio por Internet en Rareface junto a noches en salas, ambas llamadas DeepSensation. Llegando a este punto sus sesiones abarcaban desde Deep Electronic Lounge a Electro House, Techno y Break. En el 2005 decidió llevarlo todo a otro nivel dedicando un año a estudiar producción musical en “Point Blank College” en Londres. Residiendo en el Reino Unido toco en pequeños bares de moda en la zona Norte de Londres y fue invitado a pinchar al primer festival Rocket en Andalucia.

En el 2006 mudó su base a Manchester ha estudiar un graduado de 3 años en ingeniería y diseño de sonido, mientras esto ocupo la mayor parte de su tiempo, consiguió encajar una invitación de vuelta al festival Rocket y pinchar en varios eventos Electro House de Manchester. El 2007 fue un buen año; empezó a producir minimal, Tech-House y Breaks a la vez de montar sesiones con el Ableton live n Fx por el Reino unido y Marbella. Ese año fue el comienzo de Elektek Recordings, un sello digital dirigido por D´Funk.

Este año ha comenzado con buen pie, toca sesiones live mensualmente en Method (junto con artista Stealth 1 del sello Elektek) a la vez de organizar noches Elektek por Manchester, con artistas del sello más invitados, y no olvidemos publicando nuevas referencias en Elektek Recordings.

Darkat Music is proud to present the acclaimed live session from the hands of Dj producer D´Funk. An outstanding potpourri of invocative minimal sounds that will take you down the never ending rabbit hole. You only have to choose how deep you want to go.

DJing for over ten years, D´Funk started playing House and Garage in bars and clubs on the Costa del Sol, Spain. Back around summer 97 he began experimenting with different styles, such as Progressive House and Trance and soon after he organized nights called Juicy in Benalmadena. In 2000, he took on the name D’FunK and at the same time moved further along the cost around Marbella meeting up with the Raveface crew, an online Techno radio - Tv project that included producing and playing live on the Internet. At this point D´Funk´s sets where compiled of Deep House and Funky Tech House along with an occasional touch of the darker side of 2 Step, playing as resident for Raveface.com, ElectroSound and DanceKulture.

In 2001 he started playing at festivals and clubs in places such as Granada, Almeria and Torre Vieja, he also launched his own internet radio show on Raveface together with club nights called ‘DeepSensation’. By now his track list went from Deep Electronic Lounge to Electro House, Techno and Breaks. In 2005 he decided to take it all to the next level by dedicating a year to study Music Production at the Point Blank College in London. Whilst in the uk he played in small trendy bars in and around North London, and was invited to Dj at the first Rocket Festival in Andalusia, Spain.

In 2006 he moved to Manchester to study for a 3 year BSC Hons degree in Sound Engineering and Design at the School of Sound Recordings, whilst this took up most of his time, he did manage to fit in an invite back to play at The Rocket Festival plus Deejaying at some Electro House parties in Manchester. 2007 was a good year; he started producing Minimal, Tech-House and Breaks and played Ableton Live Sets n FX around the UK and Marbella (Spain). That year was the start of Elektek Recordings, a digital label set up by D’FunK.

This year has so far stared of well, he is playing Live sets monthly at Method (a night with artist signed to Elektek, Stealth 1) he is also putting on regular Elektek Live nights with the labels artists and invited guests from around Manchester. And not to forget, releasing new Ep´s on Elektek Recordings.
